Engineer Ahmed Kurdi, Director General of the Aleppo Industrial City, received a delegation from the Syrian Investment Authority today, headed by Director General Engineer Talal Al-Hilali, and including Mr. Talal Al-Jabri, Head of the Aleppo City Council.
The meeting addressed several key topics, primarily reaffirming the government's support for the industrial sector and boosting local production. Emphasis was placed on the importance of Aleppo as Syria's industrial capital, given its strategic geographic location and skilled industrial workforce.
The meeting also touched upon the issue of employment and the implementation of Law 114 concerning tax exemptions, in addition to discussing the crucial role of the agricultural sector as a vital and integral link to the industrial sector.
Kurdi reviewed the impact of recent legislation following the industrial city's integration into the Ministries of Industry and Economy, highlighting its contribution to improvements in the industrial work environment. He also stressed the need to address issues related to land transport and tariffs, and to reduce transportation costs, given their direct impact on industrial activity and exports. Customs duties and fees levied by the Engineers Syndicate were also discussed, along with the necessity of addressing these issues.
